René Lalique (1860–1945) – 'Lotus' Decanter with Original Stopper & Two Glasses – Model 5031 – France, c.1924 A very rare René Lalique 'Lotus' table service, comprising the iconic Model 5031 decanter with its original lotus flower stopper and two lotus glasses. Designed during the height of the Art Deco period, the Lotus service is among René Lalique's most recognisable tableware designs. The decanter features a broad flared neck moulded as overlapping lotus petals, crowned by its original stopper with black enamelled decoration representing the flower's centre. The matching glasses are decorated with the same finely moulded motif and black enamelled bases. The decanter and glasses are signed R. Lalique France, confirming production during René Lalique's lifetime. The model was introduced in 1924, while the matching glasses belong to the same celebrated Lotus series.
