The Carène is Waterman's hull-shaped design, with the cap sitting flush to the barrel and the inlaid "keel" clip set into the cap. Coral Orange is a discontinued Carène colour: a solid, opaque coral-orange lacquer. This is the standard lacquer Carène with gold trim. Fountain pen - Inlaid solid gold nib, stamped 18K and 750, with the Waterman hexagon logo - Black section, cartridge/converter filling; a Waterman-type piston converter is included - Gold-plated cap band engraved WATERMAN and FRANCE, inlaid keel clip with the Waterman logo, gold-plated end cap Ballpoint - Matching Coral Orange lacquer and gold-plated trim, inlaid keel clip Condition statement Used, with signs of wear. - Fountain pen: the lacquer keeps a good gloss, with light surface marks and fine scratches on the cap and barrel. The gold plating is bright. - Ballpoint: shows clear wear. There are several lacquer chips and pale scuffed patches on the upper half, around the clip and at the top end, and a few small marks on the lower barrel.
