The CD50 is an excellent CD player based on Philips TDA1541 and cdm4 mechanics. Both the dac 1541 and the cdm4 mechanics have also been used by other manufacturers, see high-end CDs. This player has been selected by the engineer Gennaro Muriano, an Italian audio icon, head of Muriano Research, on the basis of his exclusive and innovative NTS (natural transmission sound) project. In particular, a top-loading system has been developed to make the best use of the reading optics and solve the known reliability problems of these mechanics over time. The trolley, the gears and the plastic support have been removed and replaced with a wooden support, very similar to the harmonic case of a guitar, which has both the function of stabilizing the control operations during the reading, and of enriching the harmonics. The audio section is entirely revised and updated with a different signal path and the exclusion of the buffer and the output amplifier. Interventions made not to upset the sound of the player but to clean it up appreciably making it comparable to readers of several thousand euros. the sound qualities, in fact, are immediately evident from the first notes.
