A superb and stylish Art Deco sculptural lamp, dating from the 1920s/1930s. This classic piece of period lighting features a beautifully detailed and dynamically posed panther figure, embodying the sleek elegance and geometric forms of the Art Deco era. The figure, cast in spelter (Art Metal/Régule), boasts a striking dark patina (bronze colour) accentuating the animal's powerful musculature as it stalks across a modelled rocky outcrop. The sculpture is mounted on a substantial, rectangular base of speckled, dark-veined marble, characteristic of the Art Deco period. To the side of the sculpture is a large, spherical lamp shade (globelamp) made of opaline/milk glass, providing a soft, warm light. The lamp is activated via a small switch located on the marble base. Condition: Good condition – used with small signs of ageing consistent with its age. The patina on the panther is well-preserved.
