The interior is finished in a rich sprinkled-gold lacquer (nashiji effect). Such works were produced for both domestic tea-related use and for the export market, reflecting Japan’s continuing appreciation of auspicious motifs—cranes for longevity, pines for steadfastness and endurance. ■Condition Very good overall; minimal handling marks; original storage box with printed instructions included.
