VITYRA - 宙痕

宙痕 Indigo, clay, charcoal and terre verte on canvas 100cm x 140cm (39 inches x 55 inches) 宙痕 (Chūkon), meaning “scar of the universe,” emerges from darkness as both wound and whisper — the faint trace of light folding through infinite space. In this work, contemporary artist VITYRA explores the tension between dissolution and remembrance: where matter thins into shadow, and shadow, in turn, bears the memory of what once burned. The surface, composed of indigo, clay, charcoal, and terre verte, unfolds in deep mineral layers — darkness upon darkness — through which a fragile band of luminosity seems to rise, pulse, and vanish. The forms are neither fixed nor fluid, evoking a distant nebula or a submerged figure suspended in timeless drift. 宙痕 contemplates the persistence of what cannot be seen — the quiet trace that light leaves when it withdraws. It is a meditation on impermanence and the unseen architecture of memory, where even the void carries the mark of what once was. As with all of VITYRA’s works, it belongs to the philosophy of wabi-sabi — honoring the transient, the incomplete, and the unseen beauty that lingers in silence. 宙痕 is not an image of the universe, but its residue — the echo of creation fading into stillness. This original painting by VITYRA is discreetly hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. VITYRA is represented by S-Gallery, a well-known gallery for Viennese boundary-pushing contemporary artists. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube—an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm, with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching. Frame placement is lightly marked on the back to assist precise mounting.
