They date from the Cretaceous, 72.1-83.6 million years ago. They still have shell covering around surface. Elongated dinosaur egg is specific of oviraptor egg. Each one of size is about 17*7*3 .
Because the eggshell also contains pigments, proteins and mineral complexes, it appears black.
Oviraptor has a double fallopian tube structure, so they lay two eggs at a time, which is not seen in modern animals.
