The Rollet family owned several mines in Madagascar since 1920, prospecting for new deposits, mining and exporting minerals for industrial uses (mainly phlogopite) but also gemstone roughs and collectable specimens. Founder Marc Rollet was a very early mineral dealer in France. The collection features many specimens of historical and systematic interest from Madagascar, as well as a variety of French and international classics from the last century. Here is a remarkable specimen of translucent sphalerite from Kabwe mine in Zambia, coated with highly iridescent oxides and epitaxial chalcopyrite! Unique.
