The metal ring visible on the leg is a typical bird-ring from the 1970s–1980s. Such rings were issued by ornithological organisations or breeders for identification and research purposes. They contain coded information including the issuing organisation’s abbreviation, the breeder’s or ringer’s unique number, the year code, and a sequential identification number. Historical context During the late 1970s and early 1980s, European taxidermy was characterised by naturalistic poses and a shift toward interior-friendly display style. Small passerines like the Winter Wren were frequently mounted in dynamic lifelike stances, intended as decorative natural history accents within living spaces. The craftsmanship of R.
