Porslin - Japan - japansk Imari/kutani-stil
Impressive hand-painted Japanese Imari/Kutani-style floor vase with trumpet neck and baluster body.
The decoration combines figurative scenes (figures in kimono, terrace landscape, pavilion) with floral panels (peony, chrysanthemum) and diaper borders, executed in the classic Imari/Kutani palette: underglaze cobalt blue with iron-red, gilding and polychrome enamels on a bright white ground. Interior shows throwing rings from the wheel; base unmarked.
• Origin: Japan (attribution by style)
• Period: 20th century (likely mid-century)
• Material/Technique: Porcelain; underglaze blue with overglaze enamels & gilt
Dimensions
• Height: 77 cm
• Max. diameter: 30 cm
Condition
Good vintage condition overall. Minor age-related wear to enamels and gilding; a few small rim/foot scuffs and firing/ glaze irregularities from production (see photos). No structural cracks or restorations observed.
