A beautiful and diverse collection of 10 vintage Japanese Buddhist wagesa stoles, traditionally worn by temple practitioners, pilgrims, and followers of major Buddhist sects in Japan. Each stole features gold-thread embroidery representing temple names, sects, or symbolic crests (kamon). These stoles appear to date from around the late Shōwa period (1980s–1990s) based on materials, dye tones, and embroidery techniques visible in the photos. A highly desirable lot for collectors of Buddhist textiles, religious items, Japanese pilgrimage culture, or for use in temple display.
