High quality Japanese traditional hand carved wooden Noh mask - Okina翁, finely carved with meticulous treatment and details. made by Kurabayashi Akira倉林朗 and his name 朗 was signed on the backside. Artist: Kurabayashi Akira倉林朗 August 1979: He visited Nagasawa Ujiharu's home (Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture). He began making masks under Nagasawa Ujiharu (a holder of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Technique). 1985: Founded a Noh Mask School in Shikishima-cho, Nakakoma-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture. 1989: Held an exhibition of Noh Mask School works at the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art. 1995: Held a solo exhibition at Yao Department Store in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. 1997: Held an exhibition of Noh Mask School works at Seibu Department Store in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. November 1998: Held a solo exhibition at Gallery Himawari in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. September 1999: Relocated the Yamanashi Noh Mask School to 3033 Yamamiya-cho, Kofu City. April 2000: Held a solo exhibition at Gallery Himawari in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. May 2004: Held the Noh Mask Kurabayashi-kai at the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art. April 2005: Held a solo exhibition at the Saitama Traditional Crafts Hall in Ogawa-cho, Hiki-gun, Saitama Prefecture. January 2006: An article was published in EPTA, published by Hinoki Shinyaku Co., Ltd.
