All proceedings go to the Milan based "Emergency" association In favor of the Emergency charity association these works of some ob the best known comic artists, as well as fantasy and science-fiction illustrators from all over the world go on auction. The works were made during the Lucca Comics & Games event. The proceeds will go to "Emergency", a humanitarian association founded in Milan in 1994 to bring help to the civilian victims of wars and poverty. The funds raised in particular will go to the Mayo pediatric center in Sudan. Armed conflicts continue to threaten the security of the country and have caused the displacement of over two million people. Almost half of the population lives below the poverty line and one in six children is malnourished. Emergency started working in Sudan in 2004 and in 2005 opened the Pediatric Center in Mayo refugee camp, a few kilometers from the capital Khartoum, to offer free treatment to children up to 14 years of age. It is estimated that the Mayo camp is inhabited by 500,000 people and more than half of the population is made up of children under the age of 14. Living conditions within the camp are at the limit of survival.
