André Castinel, Frans kunstenaar geboren in 1934 in Versailles, Frankrijk en stierf in 2021. Hij staat bekend om zijn abstracte schilderijen en was actief gedurende de tweede helft van de 20e eeuw en het begin van de 21e eeuw.

Zijn schilderijen zijn vaak expressief en bevatten elementen van zowel abstracte als figuratieve kunst.

In de jaren 60 en 70 maakte Castinel deel uit van de kunstbeweging "Supports/Surfaces", die bekend stond om haar experimenten met het gebruik van materialen en deconstruerende methoden van schilderkunstige ondersteuningen. 

Castinel heeft deelgenomen aan verschillende solo- en groepstentoonstellingen in Frankrijk en internationaal, waaronder in de Verenigde Staten, Zwitserland en Italië. Zijn werk is opgenomen in diverse openbare en particuliere collecties.
