Fully functional. Sound on both channels without noises or crackles. Tested on all inputs. Switches, lights all functional. Two phono inputs great amplifier for vinyl lovers. Optically almost like new with minimal signs of use. Great collector's item.

The vintage Yamaha A-960II integrated amplifier is highly regarded by users for its impressive dynamic range, powerful and clear sound reproduction, and versatility, particularly its excellent phono stage. Reviewers praise its robust build quality but note a few common maintenance issues due to age.
Key Features & User Experience
Powerful Performance: The amplifier delivers substantial power, rated at 2 x 120 watts into 8 ohms and 2 x 180 watts into 4 ohms (DIN). Reviewers from Mackern.de were surprised by its "dynamic and forceful" performance, even at high volumes, with the sound remaining clear and transparent.
"Honest" Sound Reproduction: Users often describe the sound as warm, clear, and "honest," which allows the subtleties of the music to shine through, contrasting it with some competing models that can sound artificial or over-processed.
Versatile Phono Stage: A standout feature for vinyl enthusiasts is the versatile phono input, which supports both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) cartridges with switchable input impedances (33/47/100 kOhm for MM).
Connectivity: It offers a range of inputs, including two phono inputs, two tape loops, a tuner, and an aux input.
Build Quality & Aesthetics: The amplifier has a solid build quality typical of 1980s Japanese Hifi. It features distinctive, often green-lit, square buttons and a "Listening Level Monitor" (a basic power indicator with a flashing red LED).
