Ceremonial zoomorphic wooden stool carved from a single piece of wood. The piece features a stylized animal form with a low seating surface supported by legs, characteristic of West African ritual and authority objects. Such stools were not everyday furniture but symbolic objects connected to status, leadership, and tradition.
The carving shows asymmetry and tool marks consistent with traditional hand craftsmanship. The surface presents a natural patina developed over time.

Good condition. The object shows wear, surface patina, and small irregularities consistent with age and traditional use. No modern restoration observed.

Hand-carved hardwood.
Origin:
West Africa, attributed to Togo. According to the previous owner, this type of stool was traditionally associated with local chiefs or elders.
