Chupícuaro-Kultur Dies ist eine kleine, solide Chupícuaro-Tonfigur aus Westmexiko. K-039
A finely crafted solid pottery female figure from the Chupícuaro culture, part of the Classic Period traditions of West Mexico, specifically the Michoacán region. This small figurine, measuring 5,6 cm in height, is made from natural buff-colored clay and exhibits the stylized features typical of Chupícuaro art: exaggerated ear ornaments, prominent breasts, and a detailed chest adornment or necklace. The figure also features a pierced abdominal area, possibly symbolic or functional, and a textured head that may represent a headdress or stylized hair.
The minimal facial features and abstract proportions reflect the ritual and symbolic aesthetic of the time, often associated with fertility, protection, or ancestral reverence. These figures were commonly placed in burials or domestic shrines.
