This is not a modern reproduction: it is an authentic Baroque-era casting, produced in Rome approximately one century after the original Renaissance issue. During the late 1600s, several Roman workshops reproduced the most important papal and cardinal medals of the previous century, creating high-quality castings for collectors, scholars, and members of the Curia.
