1960’s Vintage Seiko Diashock 2501-0080 Automatic Mechanical Watch in Working Condition
Classic Seiko charm — DIASHOCK 2501-0080. Clean silver dial with elegant fluted bezel and slim stainless case, a perfect vintage daily wearer or add-on for your Seiko collection. Reliable automatic winding powered by Seiko’s in-house Cal. 2501 (Diashock, 17 jewels, 19,800 vph). A beautiful example of Seiko’s late-1960s mechanical craftsmanship. This model blends restrained elegance with robust engineering: a finely fluted bezel frames a clear silver dial, the case sits in the boy’s / small-men size class (~32.0 mm) which wears comfortably and looks exceptionally classy on smaller wrists. The 2501 family of calibers was part of Seiko’s push in the late 1960s to build compact, reliable automatic movements for a wider range of case sizes. The movement in this watch — Caliber 2501 — features Seiko’s Diashock protection and was produced for Seiko’s mid-century dress/ladies and boy’s models, combining slim profile with dependable performance. These movements were in production around the late-1960s / early-1970s and are noted for their durable design and easy serviceability. Movement highlights:Cal. 2501 (automatic, sweep seconds) Diashock shock protection. Jewels: 17.Beat rate: 19,800 vibrations per hour — gives a period-correct feel and smooth sweep.
This particular example has been carefully inspected; the case and crystal present very well for its age, the fluted bezel catches light beautifully, and the movement winds and runs consistently. Ideal for daily wear after basic service or perfect for a collector who appreciates compact vintage Seiko design.

■Condition: There are scratches on the case, case back, band and the Crystal but very fine scratches not visible to the naked eyes. Lots of fine scars/scratches are in fact proof of real true antique vintage, as they cannot be avoided occurring after long term usage of more than half century. During the test period N0v.29 to Dec. 8th the power reserve still shows more than 35 hours average and time accuracy within 1-3minutes in 24 hours. So the watch is in good condition overall since quick-day-set device still does work precisely, but very careful handling, when set the time, is required due real vintage watch. The watch works properly but needs to be wound at your convenience daily by natural arm movement to keep more accurate time. It was functioning normally at the time of listing, so it should continue to function without any issues. Please be sure you are satisfied with the condition before bidding, so please check the photos and product description and ask any questions you may have (please note, however, that we may not be able to answer questions close to the end of the auction)
Note: As a vintage piece, the Seiko DIASHOCK 2501-0080 is a worthy and charming watch — especially if you value heritage, design, and mechanical simplicity. It will not match modern wristwatches for convenience, but it doesn’t need to: its strength lies in its history, elegance, and the spirit of mid-70s watchmaking.
