GEORGES LELEU A large French art deco chandelier with a modernist look by the famous Paris based company of Georges Leleu in nickel plated bronze or solid brass and frosted clear pressed glass. The chandelier was made around 1932-1936. Leleu founded his company by the turn of the century. It closed down in the late 30s. The seven shades in thick glass are signed 'G .Leleu' on the inside of the bowls. An earlier version of this chandelier with a less modernist mount is represented on the 1932 Leleu product poster (which is no part of this sale). The central bowl is 22 cm wide. The six satellite shades are 20 cm in diameter. The chandelier is 78,5 cm high and 64 cm wide. It is in excellent condition. Some minuscule chips can be seen on the inside rim of the central bowl. Invisible with the shade in place. I have re-plated the mounting. And the fixture is rewired with nine American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones. I will ship the chandelier in three or four parcels. To make the mounting fit the maximum size box PostNL allows I will have to demount it.
