Rosenthal - Lino Sabattini, Uta Feyl - Vase (3) - Tasca, Pinguin - Biskuitporzellan
Dear Bidders,
thank you for your interest in my offer.
This lot features three distinctive vintage porcelain vases by Rosenthal, showcasing the innovative design language of the late 20th century.
Rosenthal has been one of Germany’s premier porcelain manufacturers since 1879, known for its collaborations with prominent designers and artists and for combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary forms.
Two vases ( big one in the background and the one on the right side ) were designed by Lino Sabatini and small one on the left by Uta Feyl - for Rosenthal Studio-Line.
Sabatini, a renowned Italian designer, was known for his sculptural and fluid forms – a hallmark of organic modernism and mid-century European design. His creations for Rosenthal embody the perfect blend of Italian artistic vision and German porcelain mastery.
Born in the Czech Republic and educated in Berlin, Uta Feyl has contributed numerous sculptural porcelain designs to Rosenthal’s Studio-Line collections. Her pieces are sought after by collectors of post-modern and organic studio porcelain.
~ Large Vase (Tasca) – Lino Sabattini ~
A sculptural piece from the Tasca series by Lino Sabattini, produced for Rosenthal (Studio-Line) likely in the 1980s–1990s. The Tasca design — named from the Italian word for “pocket” — is characterized by its smooth, flattened organic form with an asymmetrical opening, reflecting minimalist and postmodern sensibilities. Many examples are dated to the late 20th century and are attributed to around the 1980s.
~ Medium Vase (Pinguin) – Lino Sabattini ~
Part of the Pinguin series, also designed by Lino Sabattini for Rosenthal. These vases date from the mid to late 20th century, with some examples produced as early as the 1960s, showing Sabattini’s exploration of playful yet refined modern forms in porcelain.
~ Small Vase – Uta Feyl ~
The smaller bisque porcelain vase is attributed to Uta Feyl for Rosenthal Studio-Line. Feyl has been a designer with Rosenthal since 1979, known for organic, fluid forms that often reference shapes from nature and the human body. Her work for Rosenthal Studio-Line spans the late 20th century, especially throughout the 1980s.
