The work depicts a rural/suburban pastoral scene—with a winding country path in the foreground, flanked by rice paddies (田んぼ) and trees; scattered houses in the middle ground; and rolling mountains in the background. The overall atmosphere is serene and tranquil, making it a quintessential piece of the Japanese local landscape genre. It features "intricate lines that delineate the textures of the road surface and vegetation" and "a bucolic ambiance rendered via soft color-block printing". The artist’s signature—"K. Kawase 1949"—is inscribed at the bottom right corner of the print. Due to age, the paper shows signs of oxidation, yellowing, mildew spots and edge wear.
