Schmuckschatulle - Kristall, Messing - 1850–1900 – Napoleon III

Jewellery Box, 1850–1900, France, Silvered Metal and Bevelled Glass Elegant late 19th-century jewellery or keepsake box, dating from circa 1850–1900. The box is richly decorated with finely chased scrolling foliage and floral motifs, typical of the Napoleon III period. The hinged lid is fitted with a thick bevelled glass panel, set in a decorative metal frame with a small gilt brass thumb clasp. The box stands on four spherical feet and features a beaded border along the base, giving it a refined and balanced appearance. The interior is lined with original blue silk cushioning, showing visible wear, patina and age-related discoloration, consistent with its use and age. The exterior metal shows a beautiful aged patina, with light wear and surface marks, all in keeping with an authentic 19th-century object. A charming and decorative antique, perfect as a jewellery box, vanity piece or collector’s item. Condition Good antique condition for its age. Wear to the interior lining, light surface wear and patina to the metal. Glass intact. Please study the photos carefully as they form part of the description. Period 1850–1900 Materials Silvered metal Bevelled glass Brass clasp Silk interior Shipping Shipping within 1 to 3 business days after payment, securely packaged with track and trace and insurance. Note to US residents: due to extra processing costs of 150 euro plus the increase of tax tariffs on top of the shipping costs, Beau Brocante unfortunately had to raise the shipping costs to cover this. I am really sorry to all my much appreciated US customers. Since this is an auction platform, it's impossible to predict the outcome of the auction and we have to ensure covering costs.
