───────
This elegant vase is attributed to Zuihō (瑞峰), a metal artist associated with the long-established tradition of Takaoka copperware from Toyama Prefecture, Japan.
The form features a softly rounded silhouette, with a gently swollen body that conveys warmth, balance, and a calm presence.
The surface is finished in a characteristic blue-green patina, typical of high-quality Takaoka metalwork, and is accented with bold applications of gold leaf.
This combination of verdigris tones and gold decoration is particularly popular among works attributed to Zuihō and is regarded as one of his most recognizable stylistic expressions.
Although produced during the Japanese Shōwa period, the vase retains a modern and timeless aesthetic, making it suitable for both traditional Japanese interiors and contemporary settings.
The vase is accompanied by its original wooden storage box (tomobako).
The box bears the inscription 「瑞峰」 (Zuihō), indicating attribution to the artist.
The vase itself does not carry a visible maker’s mark on the base, which is not uncommon for works intended for presentation with a signed box.
