Koto no Kyūjitsu (古都の休日) - Anonymous - Japan (Ohne mindestpreis)

Work Title: Koto no Kyūjitsu (古都の休日) Artist: Anonymous (to be verified) Technique: Woodblock Print Artist’s Markings: Signed and sealed on the print Pencil Edition Number: 2/50 (Limited Edition) Paper Size: 24 × 30 cm (9.45 × 11.81 in) Frame Size: 29 × 33.5 × 3 cm (11.42 × 13.19 × 1.18 in) Paper Material: Washi (和紙) Work DescriptionThis black-and-white woodblock print, themed around Teradaya (寺田屋) in Fushimi, Kyoto, Japan, was created around 1970 by an anonymous Japanese artist (to be verified). The main subject is a traditional Japanese machiya (町屋) building, corresponding to the historical Teradaya in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto—a prominent inn and shop during the Bakumatsu period, which became a historical site due to the "Teradaya Incident". The Japanese characters Teradaya (寺田屋) in the left-side label of the image directly indicate the building’s name. Employing strong black-and-white contrast typical of woodblock prints, the work depicts details like the building’s lattice windows and roof using geometric lines and block textures, embodying the style of sketch-based prints. The print includes the artist’s signature and seal in the bottom right corner, along with a pencil-written title and the edition number 2/50. This woodblock print comes with a substantial frame and glass panel. The frame shows signs of wear including scuffs, scratches, and paint loss. Due to age, the print's paper exhibits natural aging effects such as oxidation yellowing, mildew spots, water stains, and creases. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
