10 yen 拾園 / Wake no Kiyomaro 和気清麻呂 Size: 8.1×14.2 cm Number of banknotes: 100 100 × 10 yen Year: 1930-1946 Kiyomaro Wake was an aristocrat of the late Nara and early Heian periods. The bill was issued after the Great Kanto Earthquake, a major disaster. ◆軍用手票 Gun You Shu Hyou (Military Currency) Military currency were issued by the government to cover the costs of procuring supplies and paying salaries of troops stationed in occupied territories. The use of the home currency in the occupied territories was expected to have the effect of separating the home and occupied economies, since the use of the home currency in the occupied territories would increase the overall amount of the home currency and risk causing inflation in the home country. ◆Military Currency 10 yen 拾園 / Wake no Kiyomaro 和気清麻呂 Year: 1938 This is a Military Currency issued by the Japanese government in 1938. The correction was printed in red on an existing bank note. Due to objections raised at the time to this simple and crude response, this corrected banknote was never produced again. Therefore, they are fewer in number and more valuable than those printed later. There are 100 banknotes here. They are sealed in a transparent bag and taped in the past, making it impossible to take detailed photos. It is clear that they are unused or in near clean condition. It's so beautiful. It was bagged and sealed a long time ago. Therefore, it cannot be opened. The bag has deteriorated and begun to disintegrate. However, the banknotes inside are protected and remain clean and beautiful. Carefully packaged and shipped from Japan to overseas. We have other rare items up for current auction.
