The armor displays a level of refinement that is extremely difficult to reproduce today, conveying strength, dignity, and elegance in keeping with the title Buyu, meaning martial courage and valor. The lacing is made from 100 percent silk, arranged in a striking white and deep crimson colour scheme that enhances the classical, high-ranking appearance of the armor. The helmet features a star-studded bowl construction with prominent rivet detailing, fitted with an impressive long crescent-shaped crest. Decorative fittings throughout the set are finished with gold plate, giving a rich, warm brilliance to the surface. Peony motifs appear across the metal fittings. In Japanese symbolism, the peony represents wealth, nobility, prosperity, and honour, making it an auspicious motif for samurai armor associated with power and prestige. The cuirass is constructed in the traditional tsurubashiri style with refined surface patterns. The set is complete and includes the helmet with long crescent crest, face mask, shoulder guards, cuirass, thigh guards, shin guards, traditional footwear, display stand, black lacquer storage box, and the original signed wooden name plaque, together with the original printed assembly instructions. The black lacquer storage box also functions as a dignified display base, allowing the armor to be presented with presence and authority. The condition is very good vintage condition, with minimal wear. Please refer to the photos for details. Dimensions of Box: approx.
