Rare Pair of the Vases In Glazed Terracotta • France 1950. It is a pair of magnificent decorative vases in glazed terracotta, ethnic style and very beautiful fluted ruffle edge These vases are made of terracotta with a very reddish-brown varnished glazed finish. The glaze can range from a subtle sheen to a high gloss. A decorative strip carved with leaf or chevron motifs surrounds the middle of the base of each piece. They have a flared base, a narrow collar and a wavy upper opening. The patinated finish suggests an artisanal or vintage character.
