For sale is a classic example of a war time / post war(1940-s) mechanical German wristwatch from Kollmar & Jourdan. Kollmar & Jourdan (KJ) was a prominent German jewelry company based in Pforzheim that operated from 1885 to around 1975, and initially focused on producing watch cases, straps, and jewelry. Watch is in good working order features a gold plated case with a black dial marked "w time" and gold hour markers. The crown stands out as a classic big crown design reminiscent of war time time pieces where watches were developed with the wearer using gloves during operation. Black dial has patinated. and has aged wonderfully still retaining the hand painting gold minute markers on the outer rim of the dial. The dial has three notable markings: Bruchsicher, antimagnetic and w time. Bruchsicher means "shatterproof" in German and refers to the "shatterproof glass" that the watch has, adding to its military nature. Antimagnetic marks the movements antimagnetic feature, and W time is the model/brand of the watch. Condition Used: An item that has been previously worn.
