Cranes hold special significance in Japanese culture. They symbolise longevity, fidelity, and good fortune. The artist beautifully expresses this symbolism through the poised figures — one crane stretches its neck upward in an elegant display, while the other bows gently in a gesture of grace and harmony. Ogiso Shoun was born in 1948 in Gifu Prefecture. He has been selected for the Toyo Bijutsu-ten (Oriental Art Exhibition) twenty times, among many other exhibitions. He is a member of the Toyo Bijutsu-kai (Oriental Art Society). The painting is mounted with refined green and beige silk brocade, which complements the artwork’s tranquil theme. The scroll ends are crafted from resin. The artwork bears the signature "祥雲Shoun" and the artist’s seal, further adding to its refined presence. There is some foxing visible on the surface due to age, and the reverse side shows discolouration. Please refer to the photos for details of the condition. Dimensions: approx.
