Iittala - Timo Sarpaneva - Kerzenhalter Festivo (5) - Gefrorenes Glas

Dear Bidders, thank you for your interest in my offer. I´m offering set of 5 Festivo candle holders designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, which are in a very good condition. SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS: Timo Sarpaneva (1926 - 2006) was a Finnish designer. After completing his training as a designer, he began working for the Iittala glassworks in 1950, where he also created glass sculptures that gained significant recognition. In his design work, he often used emerging technologies; for example, in the early 1950s he experimented with steam-blowing techniques. In the mid-1950s he created the i-line for Iittala, which was positioned both stylistically and in price between utility glass and art glass. The Festivo candleholders, designed for Iittala in 1966, are iconic pieces of Scandinavian glass design. Known for their distinctive ice-like texture and modular, stacked-ring form, each candleholder is mouth-blown into a special mold that creates its frosted, sculptural surface. Festivo quickly became one of Iittala’s most recognizable designs and remains highly collectible today. Their timeless, minimalist aesthetic makes them a striking accent in both modern and vintage interiors.
