Paar antiker japanischer IMARI-Blau-Weiß-Fischförmiger Teller mit Blumendekor – Meiji–Taisho - Keramik - Japan - Meiji Periode (1868-1912)
Description
These are a charming pair of antique Japanese blue and white porcelain fish-shaped plates, dating from the late Meiji to Taisho period (circa early 20th century).
Each plate is beautifully hand-painted in underglaze blue with a stylized fish design and delicate floral motifs across the body. The expressive fish shape and flowing brushwork reflect the warm character of everyday Japanese tableware of that era.
Originally used as serving plates for sashimi, appetizers, or seasonal dishes, they are also highly suitable today as decorative objects or wall display pieces in both Japanese and modern interiors.
They are not mass-produced modern items, but authentic antique ceramics with natural kiln characteristics that add to their historical charm.
This listing is for a matching pair (2 plates).
