Mortima - Commandant de Bord - Ohne mindestpreis - Cal. Cattin 66 - Herren - 1970-1979

An unusual jumbo-sized vintage diver from French manufacturer Mortima (Cattin & Cie, Morteau), the rare Commandant de Bord (French for "Ship's Captain") represents a distinctive approach to professional dive watch design with its military-style 24-hour dial configuration. Mortima was a major French watch manufacturer based in Morteau (Doubs region, near the Swiss border) that at its peak produced nearly 2 million watches annually and exported to 70 countries. Founded by Emile Cattin, the company specialized in robust, utilitarian timepieces for working professionals. The Commandant de Bord was designed for maritime use, with its 24-hour format eliminating AM/PM confusion during long voyages. Key Features: Rare 24-hour dial layout with military-style hour markers Internal rotating bezel with red/blue day/night sectors Black dial with aged luminous plots showing attractive tropical patina Arrow-tipped hands with aged lume Date window at 3 o'clock position Manual wind mechanical movement: Cattin C66 (or variant), 17 jewels French manufacture - in-house Cattin movement from Morteau, France Stainless steel compression-style case with engraved seahorse logo Original waterproof rating: 100m Case diameter: 43mm (excluding crown) Lug-to-lug: 43mm Thickness: 13.3mm Lug width: 20mm Strap length: 18.5cm total No box or papers. This watch is sold in as-found vintage condition. The dial displays characteristic aging and tropical browning that many collectors find desirable. The stainless steel case exhibits honest wear with surface oxidation and patina accumulated over five decades. Movement keeps decent time for its age but a basic servicing is advised. *** Cyan Collectibles is collector-run and based in Singapore.
All watches are carefully and securely packed before being shipped, insured and tracked.
For the standard shipping fee charged, most watches will be shipped by global courier FedEx or its equivalent. In rare instances when this is not possible, shipping will be international registered parcel post with limited tracking.

Do note that your country of residence may impose customs and import duties.
Handling charges levied by couriers for customs processing - usually minor - will be the responsibility of the buyer. Shipments to the US have become increasingly problematic and slow following the Trump administration’s uneven application of new import restrictions. Expect delays and additional shipping costs. Please examine the photos before bidding, as they form an integral part of the description. Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
