Medizinische Geräte/Ausrüstung - Optiker-Testlinsen und King Hurst „Reducing“ Linsen – London aus den Jahren um 1930-40 (2) - Glas
Optician’s Trial Lenses & King Hurst “Reducing” Lenses – London dating from around 1930-40.
Attractive small lot of early–mid 20th‑century optician’s lenses, ideal for an optical collection, display or creative re‑use. The black leatherette case with blue velvet lining holds a selection of metal‑rimmed trial lenses with knurled rings and numbered tags, as used in a trial frame when determining spectacle prescriptions. Alongside is a yellow card box of “Reducing Lenses” by King Hurst & Co., London E.C., a series of finely ground auxiliary lenses used to tweak lens power in front of existing glasses or in test rigs.
Condition is good overall with light age‑related marks; glass is generally clear with only minor specks and the cases are sound. Sold together as an evocative slice of 1930s–40s British optometric practice, and as a decorative lot for collectors, photographers or steampunk makers rather than for modern clinical use.
