Alessi Twergi handmade pepper grinder shaped out of aniline dyed and lacquered beech wood. The grinder was designed by Paolo Pagani in 1991. This mill is from the first series from 1991 with the mill from Peugeot and is hand made - see marks This grinder was one of the first Alessi Twergi products produced. This status makes this grinder one of the most classical and recognizable Alessi Twergi products that has been produced. Twergi, introduced in 1989, was a collection of wooden objects designed by Alessi's favorite designers (Branzi, Giovannoni, Graves, Venturi, etc.) and Sottsass and their young collaborators from 'Memphis'. In 1998, Twergi ceased to exist as a separate brand and more commercial products were added to the Alessi catalog. Overall in good used condition - obvious visible traces of use.
