This piece dates to approx. 1950–1970 and showcases outstanding workmanship with authentic materials. ⸻ Features: • Large, rounded wooden gourd resonator with deep reddish-brown lacquer and carved floral decoration • 7 main playing strings and 11 sympathetic strings, attached to hand-carved wooden tuning pegs • Arched metal frets, traditionally tied with fiber • Genuine bone inlays with finely engraved floral patterns across the headstock, neck, and body • A beautifully preserved main bridge carved from natural bone • Original builder’s plaque: Haribhau Vishwanath Co. – Head Office: Dadar, Bombay–28 • Includes 2 traditional metal finger picks (mezrabs) with red and green protective plastic tips Some strings are missing or loose, as visible in the photos.
