Beautiful pair of French Art Deco vases by Muller Frères, Lunéville, produced in the interwar period, circa 1925 to 1935. Each vase is hand-blown in richly marbled glass, with a vivid ruby-red body swirled with deep black and violet tones. The rounded bulbous base and tall, slender trumpet neck create a very elegant, sculptural silhouette typical of the Art Deco taste for pure lines and strong colour contrasts. As often seen with hand-made marbled glass, the two vases show slight differences in surface finish. One vase has a glossier polish, while the other has a softer, more matte appearance. The marbling itself is naturally unique, making each vase slightly different while remaining perfectly harmonious together. Both vases are signed “Muller Frères Lunéville” near the base. A highly decorative and collectible set for an Art Deco interior, collectors of French glass, or as statement pieces on a console, mantelpiece, or display cabinet.
