Seiko - 7005-7030 17J - Ohne mindestpreis - Unisex - 1970
According to most reliable online sites, the Seiko 7005 movement made its debut in 1969, and was one of the main movements for the mid-range Seiko's until 1979. This movement was also used in the iconic 7005-80XX diver's series.
For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko DAINI in excellent condition. This watch is a Collectible because of its super rare movement.
This seldom seen June 1970 Vintage Seiko was given a good clean-up - the results - the silver sunburst dial, reflective chapter ring, 3D-styled silver markers, date window and hands are now in stunning condition.
It's typical cylindrical shaped silver case and original Seiko signed SS bracelet were given a good cleaning and buffed as best as possible but tiny hairline scratches and dings still remain. The acrylic crystal is brand new.
The crown is located at the traditional 3H position. The date and time quickset works by uncorking the crown to the first and second levels for respective adjustments.
The movement was carefully stripped, cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and basic calibration conducted. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby giving the owner peace of mind.
Equipped with the 7005 movement, it has 17 Jewels that operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher shows excellent readings of +6 seconds and amplitude of 201! Such readings are very impressive by modern brand-new automatic watches whereby the accepted tolerance is -2- to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the basic calibration conducted.
The case width and height are approx. 38mm (w/o crown) and 42mm respectively which are considered big for its year of introduction. The lug width is 18mm, and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.
To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.
Even though the seals and gaskets are present / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.
The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided.
This one-of-a-kind watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in June 1970, and its value will appreciate over time.
Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 120.00 to S$ 150.00 for a proper servicing, an estimated S$ 80.00 for calibration (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to clean and buff including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.
This is a truly magnificent and rare June 1970 Seiko 7005-7030 DAINI in stunning condition with a beautifully preserved vintage dial, indices, hands, movement, case and original bracelet; so, be unique and wear a watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition.
