The Portieux Crystal Works is the successor to one of the oldest French crystal manufacturers, celebrated for its goblets, decorative objects and fancy glassware. Founded in 1690 by François Magnien de Magnienville as a modest glassworks, Portieux developed over two centuries into the largest industrial enterprise in the Vosges region, employing nearly 1,000 workers. By 1914, production had reached approximately 38,000 pieces per month, across more than 8,000 different models.
