Magnificent vintage leaf plate bowl in “Queen Victoria “ green pattern, marvelous hand painted, with lovely various butterflies and flowers, gold trimmed, in excellent condition. Lovely to display and useful on different occasions, this marvelous large platter is a versatile piece, suitable for serving sweets, holding personals or simply as a table centerpiece. The floral and foliate pattern includes butterflies and other garden insects and was first introduced in 1851 for the First World Exhibition in London and was named in the honor of Queen Victoria. According to Herend literature, "this Chinese-influenced pattern demands the skills of Herend's most talented and experienced painters." This is a rare piece, as it is in predominant green color (VBOV), one of varieties shown in Herend catalog page 170, marked with blue Herend shield stamp and numbered.
