Yatotsukari no Kai (ヤトツカリの貝) - Katsu Hattori (服部勝) - Japan (Ohne mindestpreis)

Title: Yatotsukari no Kai (ヤトツカリの貝) Artist: Katsu Hattori (服部勝) Technique: Woodblock Print Pencil-signed by the artist at the print's bottom right Edition Number: Pencil-numbered 2/70 (limited edition of 70) Sheet Size: 17.5 × 22 cm (6.89 × 8.66 in) Image Size: 12 × 19.5 cm (4.72 × 7.68 in) Frame Size: 37 × 44 cm (14.57 × 17.32 in) Paper Material: Washi (和紙) This woodblock print was created by Japanese modern artist Katsu Hattori (服部勝) in the late 1980s to early 1990s. As a modern minimalist print, its deep blue background evokes the dim, tranquil environment of the Sea of Okhotsk. The white and light blue lines above depict the texture of flowing ocean waves; the bright yellow shapes below represent the Yatotsukari (a large sea snail unique to the Sea of Okhotsk), with their high-saturation hue making them visually striking against the deep sea backdrop. Through condensed color palettes (deep blue + bright yellow) and geometric abstract forms, the work not only captures the characteristics of this specific marine creature, but also conveys the serene quality of the natural environment through a concise visual language. The print is pencil-numbered “2/70” at the bottom left corner (a limited edition of 70, this being the 2nd piece), inscribed with the title Yatotsukari no Kai (ヤトツカリの貝) in the middle, and hand-signed “K.hattori” by the artist at the bottom right corner. The print comes with a wooden frame and an acrylic panel. The frame shows signs of wear and scuffs, and has been repainted. Due to age, the print paper exhibits oxidation-induced yellowing, as well as stains and creases around the title inscription area. The overall condition is good. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
