Shōyō (昭葉) - Shirokoma Kazuki (白駒一樹,1962) - Japan (Ohne mindestpreis)

Artwork Title: Shōyō (昭葉) Artist: Shirokoma Kazuki (白駒一樹,1962) Technique: Mixed Print Technique (Woodcut + Silkscreen) Signature & Numbering: Hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the print; Pencil numbered 11/50 Paper Size: 56 × 38.5 cm (22.0 × 15.2 in) Image Size: 54.8 × 32 cm (21.6 × 12.6 in) Frame Size: 75 × 51.8 × 2 cm (29.5 × 20.4 × 0.8 in) Paper Material: Cotton Paper (棉紙) This exquisitely crafted mixed-technique print, combining Woodcut and Silkscreen, was created in the 1990s by Shirokoma Kazuki—an active and distinguished artist in the realm of modern Japanese printmaking. Renowned for employing diverse technical approaches to create abstract and nature-themed works, his pieces are part of the permanent collections of prestigious institutions including the Singapore Art Museum. Centered on abstracted plant leaf motifs, the artwork is rendered through layered, translucent, and texture-collaged techniques, fully embodying the charm of "natural freehand brushwork" inherent in Japanese aesthetics. Dominated by a palette of low-saturation hues—lavender, mint green, and light gray—with subtle accents of gold and dark green, the piece exudes a soft and fresh overall atmosphere. The overlay of partial textures and colors not only reinforces the "natural freehand brushwork" theme but also highlights the meticulous refinement of printmaking craftsmanship. On the lower right corner, the print bears the pencil-inscribed title Shōyō (昭葉) (Shō meaning "bright, shining, clear"; Yō meaning "leaf, foliage"), the limited-edition number 11/50, and the artist’s signature. A sticker with the artist’s biography is affixed to the backboard of the frame. This print comes with a solid wood frame and an acrylic panel. The frame shows signs of rubbing and minor dents. Due to age, the paper exhibits slight oxidation and other temporal traces. The overall condition remains good. - The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings). - The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable). - This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
