After the invasion of Czechoslovakia (October 1968) he emigrated to Canada, where he worked in the Metal-industry. He later turned to Photography and documented (1968-1973) Shopping Malls in Montreal, Vancouver andToronto. In 1973 he Returned to Czechoslovakia. Distrusted by the State, he was eventually Unable to work as a Photographer. Instead, during that period of “Normalization” he worked in the Steel-factory, while secretly Documenting the Ostrava region with his camera.
