Rado - Diastar Automatic - Ohne mindestpreis - Herren - 1970-1979

This vintage Rado Diastar represents a turning point in Swiss watchmaking, when durability and futuristic design became part of the brand’s identity. Introduced in the late 1960s, the Diastar was Rado’s answer to everyday wear problems that traditional stainless steel cases could not fully solve. The defining feature of this model is its hard-metal (tungsten carbide) outer case, engineered to resist scratches far better than conventional materials. Even decades later, this material choice still feels bold and technically advanced. This example features a multi-faceted cut crystal, a distinctive design element that adds depth and sharp reflections to the dial. The crystal catches light differently from every angle, reinforcing the Diastar’s unmistakable presence on the wrist. Inside beats a 25-jewel automatic movement, clearly marked and visible, reflecting Rado’s emphasis on reliable mechanical performance during this era. The date is adjusted by rotating the dial, a characteristic operating method seen on certain vintage Rado models and part of their unique mechanical approach. Please note that there is a visible chip at the 6 o’clock position on the hard-metal outer case. This is honestly disclosed and clearly shown in the photographs. It does not affect operation, but it is part of the watch’s history and should be considered when evaluating condition. The watch is fitted with a new leather strap, providing a clean presentation and comfortable wear. At the time of listing, the watch is running. As a vintage item, the watch was running at the time of listing; however, stable continuous operation and time accuracy are not guaranteed. The watch will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking to ensure safe delivery.
