An ivory manju netsuke finely incised and carved in relief, depicting an oni hiding behind a screen who playfully inserts a cucumber onto Daruma’s nose, making it protrude on Daruma’s painted face. Shōki, caught by surprise, throws his sword into the air in fright. Incised signature Koju (Mitsutoshi) and kakihan. ---The netsuke is in good condition.
