Jugendstil Buntglasfenster - 1900-1910 - 38 × 52 cm

Stained-Glass Window Panel – Art Nouveau / Jugendstil Geometry In Excellent Condition – No Reserve Striking early 20th-century stained glass panel featuring a refined geometric composition, executed in traditional leaded glass technique. The design is centered around a diamond-shaped motif with a deep red core, framed by emerald green and golden yellow glass, accented with vertical turquoise elements. The surrounding field is composed of softly textured, pale yellow glass, bordered by warm amber tones, creating a balanced and visually powerful composition. This panel strongly reflects the transition from late Jugendstil to early Art Deco, a period characterized by a move toward abstraction, symmetry, and architectural clarity. Such panels were commonly used in townhouses and apartments as transom windows or interior light panels, allowing natural light to enter while maintaining privacy and decorative impact. Details • Period: circa 1900–1910 • Technique: coloured and textured hand blown stained glass set in lead • Weight: approx. 2.55 kg • Dimensions: approx. 38 × 52 × 0,5 cm (h × w × d) • Condition: In solid condition with some minor (stable) cracks. Please see the photos for an accurate impression • With hanging chain attached • Rich colour palette: ruby red, rose-textured glass, cobalt blue streaked glass, emerald green, opaline white • Hand-crafted geometric central motif typical for late Jugendstil/early Deco transition Historical Context Around 1900–1910, stained-glass panels in private homes shifted from floral motifs to more geometric compositions—a bridge between late Jugendstil and the rising proto-Art Deco idiom. These panels were often custom-commissioned for the upper class houses in Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Brussels, reflecting both artistic taste and prosperity. The textured glass in this piece is particularly characteristic of the period, offering both privacy and decorative depth. Provenance Private collection, Netherlands. Shipping Carefully packed, fully insured, and shipped worldwide with tracking.
