Keshan - Teppich - 137 cm - 66 cm - Vintage-Wolle, handgefertigt

hand-knotted fine silky keshan rug 2 pieces together Along the Silk Road Somewhere along the busy Silk Road, in a small Indian village, where the art of carpet weaving was passed down from father to son, its story began. The carpet that lies before you today is not just made of wool and cotton; it carries within it the passing of time and the work of human hands. In the 1970s, a young craftsman named Ramesh knotted each of its threads. The pattern – a classic Kashan design with a central pendant – was drawn for him by his grandfather, who had learned from the original Persian masters. Ramesh worked on the runner for months. Each tiny floral motif and curved tendril symbolized hope and prosperity, and the beige and orange colors evoked the warm sands of the desert. When it was finished, the carpet was still vibrant in color. It was purchased by a dealer who took it to Europe, where it became the decoration of an elegant hallway in an old castle. Decades of trampling on its soft, velvety surface, sunlight fading its colors slightly, and use giving it the delicate, worn texture that we love so much in vintage pieces today. This rug has survived generations and changing fashions. Today, it is not just a floor covering, but a historical imprint that tells the story of oriental craftsmanship, long journeys, and the warmth of home. Their condition is in vintage, period-appropriate condition according to the photos, see the photos size: 137 x 66 cm and 116 x 49 cm
