Karakusa-Scroll - Porzellan - Japan - Meiji Periode (1868-1912)
Here are two charming Japanese plates from the Meiji period. They feature a karakusa scroll pattern on the front in gold against a red background, and also in underglaze blue on the back. Flowers, and a pomegranate fruit in the center, a sign of luck and prosperity. They are marked with a hallmark. 19th century.
Overall condition is good. There are signs of wear due to age. One plate has a hairline crack of 2.5cm. Minor firing flaws, like a small flake in the glazing on the back.
Will be carefully packaged and shipped with insurance and tracking. Strong packing, but lightweight, so lower shipping costs.
