Vase - Bronze - Japan - Meiji Periode (1868-1912) - ( Meiji-Zeit )

Title (Suggested): Rare Japanese Meiji Period Cloisonné Lidded Incense Jar – 19th Century Description: This is an authentic Japanese cloisonné enamel lidded jar dating to the Meiji period (1868–1912), late 19th century. A fine example of traditional Japanese metalwork, richly decorated with intricate enamel panels and gilt details. The body features multi-panel cloisonné decoration with floral motifs, butterflies, symbolic elements, and scrolling patterns, executed in vivid turquoise blue, gold, red, black, and soft pastel tones. The detailed wirework (cloisons) and dense enameling are characteristic of Meiji-era craftsmanship, produced during Japan’s golden age of export art. The vessel stands on three gilt metal feet and comes with its original matching lid, topped with a finely shaped gilt finial. The combination of enamel artistry and metal elements gives the piece both elegance and sculptural presence. Condition: Good antique condition consistent with age. There are visible signs of wear, including localized enamel losses and surface abrasions, mainly on the lower area (clearly visible in photos). No structural damage. These age-related imperfections are typical for 19th-century cloisonné and do not detract from the historical or decorative value. Details: Origin: Japan Period: Meiji period (1868–1912) Material: Cloisonné enamel on metal Height: 11 cm Diameter: 7.5 cm Weight: 203 grams Lid: Yes (original, matching) This piece is ideal for collectors of Japanese art, Meiji-period objects, or cloisonné enamel, and would make a striking addition to any serious collection or display.
