verreries Scailmont - Vase - ART DECO - XL - Glas - 35 cm

Large Art Deco Marbled Glass Vase, ca. 1920s–1930s This impressive Art Deco vase stands approximately 35 cm tall and makes a powerful visual statement through its scale, color, and refined craftsmanship. Hand-blown and individually formed, it reflects the era’s fascination with bold forms and innovative glass techniques. The vase is crafted in richly layered glass, featuring a warm amber-yellow ground animated by flowing dark brown and smoky veining. The marbled pattern appears almost organic, cascading vertically and creating a sense of movement and depth across the surface. A contrasting pale inner layer is visible at the rim and interior, enhancing luminosity and emphasizing the complexity of the glasswork. Each example produced using this technique is entirely unique. Its elegant, gently tapering silhouette with a flared neck lends architectural balance and sculptural presence, making it equally striking as a standalone object or as a centerpiece in a curated interior. This vase is a fine example of early 20th-century decorative glass — expressive, timeless, and unmistakably Art Deco in spirit. Scailmont glass ( Verreries de Scailmont) in Belgium, is renowned for its exquisite Art Deco and Art Nouveau designs. Founded by Henri-Raphaël Hirsch, (who had established the “Saint-Laurent Glassworks” a few years earlier) in 1901 in Manage, the factory specialized in molded and satin-finished glassware, featuring intricate etching, enameling, and sandblasting techniques. Collaborations with renowned designers such as Henri Heemskerk and Charles Catteau brought international acclaim, particularly after the 1925 Paris Exposition. Scailmont’s products, including vases and tableware, were often marked with the factory’s name or designer signatures, making them highly collectible. The company also partnered with brands like Boch Frères and Val-Saint-Lambert Despite industry challenges, Scailmont remained a key player in Belgium’s glass industry until it merged with Durobor in 1976 and ceased operations in 2000. Today, Scailmont glass is prized for its elegant designs and fine craftsmanship. Will be well packaged, protected and insured
